SCIA Programme 2010 Finalized
Based on SCIA SUrvey 2010 results, the Board has finalized the programme for the upcoming meetings in 2010.
We will kick-off on June 29th, 2010, with a presentation by Christian Muth from Ernst & Young on 'Conterintelligence', one of the Top 3 issues from the survey!
Christian Muth’s fields of expertise are white collar crime and (counter) intelligence. Prior to joining Ernst & Young GmbH he was responsible for all related cases of incident, issue and reputation management as well as intelligence coaching, both free-lance and for an international German Counter-Intelligence consultancy. In addition to holding an academic social sciences degree, he also developed his knowledge and competency in the respected areas by serving a twelve years term as a military officer. Muth’s career includes five years with military (human) intelligence not only in collection during his time in Afghanistan, but also for the HUMINT training at the Joint Military Intelligence School of German Bundeswehr. Today being one of the first alumni of the “Institute’s for Competitive Intelligence” Certificate of Proficiency (CPCI) in Germany, he is also a faculty member to the latter giving lectures on human intelligence collection methodology in English.
Following your requests for additional, more interactive formats, the September 29th, 2010 meeting will be dedicated to 'Legal and Ethical CI'.
In a round table discussion you will be able to share your questions, scenarios, experiences and challenges around the topic with a legal expert and practitioners from the industry. Please watch out for a seperate announcement closer to the date, when we will request your contribution and input for this event to ensure, all your questions will be covered during this round-table event!
For the last event of the year on November 30th, 2010, we are aiming to enlist a senior industry executive to look at Competitive Intelligence from the client point-of-view. What do senior executives expects from CI, where do they see the challenges and opportunities? Again, as soon as we have more details, we'll let you know here in the NEWS section of or website!
SCIA Survey 2010 - Results
We like to thank all all members and friends of SCIA who participated in the SCIA Survey 2010.
About 10% of the SCIA community took the time to reply.
The majority of repondants is happy with format, timing and frequency of the event, but has expressed interest in more interactive formats as well as more case-study oriented discussions and reviews.
The front runner for topics seems to be 'CI Legal & Ethical Guidelines'.
For more information, please go the membership section under 'Resources' and review a full presentation slides for the results detailed by question.
Thanks again for your time and participation! Watch out for the programme announcements, as the board will make an effort to incorporate as many of your ideas as possible for the rest of the year!
